Windows Azure - the OS for the cloud

 

Microsoft unveiled it’s OS for the cloud, called Azure. The fact that this completely new platform is for the cloud means that it directly impacts RIA’s.

 

 

The following video is a good technical discussion on what Azure is. Delivered by Manuvir Das who is a Director in the Windows Azure team. I recommend this video as a technical introduction…

 

The most significant statement from that video, in my opinion, was "We want Azure to do for the cloud what windows did for the desktop". Microsoft have big ambitions for Azure, very big!
